  • Condition: Surplus from a government lab. The back of the unit has been replaced with a bulky two part plastic assembly that contains a 9V battery (not included) and two discrete components - a resistor and what may be a diode. There is engraving, stickers etc. on the plastic. Prior to listing each unit was hooked up to two thermocouples (not included) and powered on. We saw readings in the approximate range of ambient tempererature and, when a finger was applied to one sensor, observed that temperature ride and the machine was able to show the approximate difference. One unit powered on but gave no readings - it will be the last one sold. No further testing was performed. Due to the limited testing it is sold as-is, officially "for parts or not working" with no guarantee of functionality or completeness whatsoever. Listing is for one unit only with no battery, thermocouples or other accessories.
