Although it will not waterproof the leather it does clean, soften,polish and restore smooth leather. It is great for shoes, handbags, boots and sporting goods It is used
    sparingly
    by working this balm into the leather evenly and after drying buffing it with a soft cloth. It is not
    recommend
    for suede or
    fibrous
